New Cameras

I bought 2 new cameras last year. My old Panasonic Lumix was producing photos with the weirdest colours, so I went shopping for a new digital camera. I went to my favourite vendor, Anthony at Alan Photo, Sim Lim Square, with every intention to buy a Canon IXUS. However, knowing his customer (ie me), Alan recommended the Leica D-Lux 4. I must say I’ve been using that camera aggressively since. It’s not the smallest camera around, but it is certainly versatile. I love the HD video that I can record on the camera too!

A couple of days before her wedding, my friend, Linna tempted me with a Flip MinoHD Camcorder. Suffice to say, I succumbed and bought it! I had read some good stuff about it and was really keen to have a go with it. It’s really small and portable, so it sits in one of the pockets in my hand bag really well. I’ve recorded a couple of video of my niece doing the Michael Jackson, but have not transferred the video out to test quality. The only thing I found annoying was the really small screen on the camera. Then again, I like my viewing equipment large.

I just read my previous blog on my iPod Touch. I must say that I am really enjoying using it! I started using Google Calendar to schedule both personal and work-related matters, and with these 2 apps called CalenGoo and Saisuke, I have all my Calendars updated … all the time! It’s great. I really love it!

Nokia N95 8GB & iPod Touch

I changed my phone. The Nokia N73 I had was driving me bananas. It decided when it wanted to work or not. After not working for the umpteenth time, it was time for the change. Since BP had his own N95 8GB, which I’ve been playing with, ie testing, I decided to go with the same phone. I did consider the iPhone, another nice gadgety phone, but iPhone owners kept complaining about low battery life, a low res camera, etc, I decided not to.

However, I did end up with an iPod Touch 32GB for my birthay this year. I really like the apps available for the iTouch. My favourites are Scramble, Solebon, Facebook, and the 4 Star Trek comics that led up to the opening of the new Star Trek movie! Live long and prosper!

OK, I know my husband indulges me a lot. Every year, since we started dating, he’s bought me a cool gadget to use. The first year, he bought me gerberas for my birthday – he asked Seok what my favourite flowers were … smart man! Gerberas are not classified as gadgets, BUT … He did take the afternoon off from work to go to Sim Lim Square with me to buy a digital camera. So, my first gadget gift from him was a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX7 (5 mega pixels). I always have it in my bag and last year, we took our Honeymoon Part I pics with it. The photos turned out really nicely!

New Toys!

My new “toy” arrived on Thu 31 Jan 2008! It’s an iMac, 24-inch, 2.8 Ghz, 4 GB RAM and 500 GB HDD, plus everything else that comes in an iMac. I’ve spent the entire afternoon updating the software, installing all the other interesting software I have, including my Wacom INTUOS3 Special Edition 6×11 Graphics Tablet. Now to put everything to work and good use – designing new stuff, making music and editing video! To commerate the arrival of my new “gadget”, I decided to create this blog. Now to see if I actually follow through since I should be busy doing all the stuff I said I would do above!
